Pet Insurance: A Compelling Necessity for Every Dog Owner

Dogs are fun. Dogs jump and can break bones or pull muscles or rapture tendons, they get into the garbage finding an assortment of toxic and nontoxic “treasures”, they eat a sock and now are impacted, they get into all plants and may counter surf, they may find a gum containing xylitol on the ground while walking and eat it, can get endless paradises that come from seemingly everywhere, you’re eating a bagel with raisins and a piece breaks off and now your dog consumed toxic levels of raisins… unfortunately, with dogs, countless things go wrong.

PET INSURANCE

At the cost of one eat out meal… wouldn’t you prefer to have your pet safe no matter what? Not only that, but also not to worry about the costs associated with the procedure? Countless dogs suffer from hip dysplasia and double hip replacement costs approximately $14,000 - with their best coverage you’d only pay approx $1,400 for that surgery. We will not even go into cancer treatment as that can go into hundreds of thousands… all which can be lessened via insurance.

After testing out many companies by myself and getting feedback from countless clients on their insurance I can hands down say that Pets Best is the absolute best pet insurance on the market. I use it for my three cats and my dog on their Elite plan.

Pets Best offers cat and dog insurance called BestBenefit to cover illnesses, injuries, and accidents. Unlike some others, Pets Best also offers wellness add-ons to subsidize routine care and procedures like flea treatments and spaying or neutering.

With Pets Best, you can customize your annual benefit limit, annual deductible, and choose a reimbursement level of 70%, 80%, or 90%, allowing you to select a policy that suits your budget. Pets Best doesn’t set limits on enrollment age, so you can purchase a policy for your senior cat or dog. Other pet insurance companies set age limits such as 10 or 14 years. As is typical with pet insurance, there are wait limits before your coverage kicks in. Those are 14 days for illness, three days for accidents, and six months for cruciate ligament conditions. They also have a processing time that is a bit slow, it takes about 2-4 weeks for them to process the claims. I haven’t found this to be of any issue. There are a few bad reviews on them, but if you read - it’s just about people not understanding what limits they chose and not understanding deductibles (deductibles with Pets Best can be adjusted and they have a huge range to select from). It’s important to carefully choose the exact plan you need.

Some of my favorite things about Pets Best are:

✔️ If you choose a plan that covers UNLIMITED ANNUAL OR LIFETIME BENEFITS - That means that you won’t be capped at $10,000 in expenses if your dog needs cancer treatment or a hip replacement. Pets Best covers it all in unlimited amounts.

✔️ They offer Rehabilitation, Acupuncture & Chiropractic coverage (it is very rare that companies cover this for such a low cost)

✔️ They offer an add-on for routine health for regular wellness vet visits (great for puppies!)… puppies need LOTS of shots!

✔️ They have an online vet available 24/7 that you can contact for free in case of a medical emergency at absolutely no cost. Your dog ate something and you’re not sure if they’ll be okay? Your dog has a tick and you aren’t sure what’s the best way to go about it? They’ll help 😊.

✔️They have an INCREDIBLE option of having them pay your vet bills directly to the vet. Some surgeries can be extremely expensive ($10,000+) and paying those out of pocket may be hard so this gives Pets Best EXTREME points in my book.

For Transparency: This link is not sponsored, I truly do believe in their product and it’s the only one I’d trust my pets being on, but it does contain a little kick-back that helps in a very tiny part pay for my pet’s insurance due to sharing.
